Holiday season
The double four day weekends have coincided with year end, a decision to redecorate the office and an accidental holiday. A more spectacular example of diary mismanagement it is difficult to imagine, but the office did need a serious makeover. It hadn’t been decorated since 2003 and this was a perfect opportunity to take the office apart and put it back together again. Needless to say the computer, although fully functional when dismantled, decided something was wrong when it was put back together again. Stropped off to the pub in a sulk only to find that it had righted itself on my return. If only all issues were resolved in a similar manner.
A few productive days this week before spending a week in Spain. I would like to say that I will be learning from the examples of architecture used on the Costa del Sol to provide luxury accommodation for holiday makers and residents; that the exercise counts as seven days towards my annual Continuous Professional Development and that, although it will be something of a task, it is a burden I am prepared to bear in order to increase my knowledge of things structural.
I would like to say that, but I would be lying.
